Casual conversion clauses have been a feature of awards and enterprise agreements for many years, but there was no statutory entitlement to casual conversion until it was introduced into the National Employment Standards (NES) in the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) (the FW Act) effective from 27 March 2021. The casual conversion obligations changed significantly following amendments commencing 26 August 2024.
