Claims of workplace bullying need to be responded to and managed promptly to look after the wellbeing of individuals and the organisation.

Workplace bullying can take place at all levels and can have a significant negative impact including on morale and productivity.

It can also expose employers to risks of legal claims, so it is critical for businesses and managers to understand their obligations, be able to identify, prevent and address bullying, and to understand how claims might arise and how to manage those claims.

This webinar covers:

  • Explain what workplace bullying is and the laws that regulate it.
  • Describe what might be ‘reasonable management action conducted in a reasonable manner’.
  • Provide guidance on the Fair Work Commission’s stop bullying jurisdiction and how to respond to an application.
  • Consider what an employer could do to eliminate or reduce the risk of workplace bullying.
  • Work through common scenarios where there may be risks of workplace bullying and how that might be best managed.
  • Provide practical guidance on what to do in those scenarios to prevent bullying behaviour, minimise the risk of bullying claims, and how to handle these claims when they do arise.
