Employers are now seeing the impact of multiple changes made to Australia's employment laws over the last few years. Courts and tribunals are clarifying what the laws mean in practice as they resolve disputes involving the amended laws.

Following a successful series of workshops run in 2024, Australian Industry Group will be running a new workshop for employers in Gladstone. This workshop explores deeper insights about:

  • Wage theft, underpayments and record keeping – the criminal and civil consequences for breaching pay and record keeping obligations
  • Key Award compliance issues – a closer look at Award obligations and the impact of recent developments, such as the Federal Court's decision involving the Fair Work Ombudsman, Coles and Woolworths
  • Delegates' rights and right of entry – understanding the new delegates' rights modern award term and practical implications for workplace communication and culture

Delivered in partnership with the Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development, these three-hour workshops will also provide a forum for participants to share experiences, raise questions and explore practical solutions with peers and Australian Industry Group specialists.

In order to maximise participation and learnings, this three-hour workshop will have a strict maximum capacity.

This program has been funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations through the Productivity, Education and Training Fund grant program.
