Businesses are being encouraged to take part in a new program to access a pipeline of international student talent.
The International Student Industry Engagement Program, run by Australian Industry Group, aims to strengthen connections between Australian businesses and Chinese international students from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan studying in Australia.
Shirley Ng, Australian Industry Group National Manager – International Competitiveness, said there was a range of strategic benefits for Australian businesses and organisations.
“A key advantage is an opportunity to connect with high-potential international students for internships, collaborations and future employment,” Ms Ng said.
“Integrating such skilled talent into your workforce has a huge economic impact and contributes to Australia’s innovation and productivity.
“Your workplace will be enriched by the opportunity to mentor students and embrace a globally minded team culture.”
The program is equally rewarding for participating students, who benefit from the opportunity to network, attend industry visits and tours, experience Australian business culture and connect with fellow students on the program.
“Through these experiences, we aim to foster mutual understanding, build lasting relationships and deepen ties between Australia and the dynamic regions of Greater China,” Ms Ng said.
