This week, I've welcomed Australian Industry Group’s Defence Council National Executive to Brisbane.
Highlights of the two-day visit included a behind-the-scenes tour of the RAAF base at Amberley and the $2.5billion Cairncross Dockyards project at Morningside. At last night's dinner, Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie spoke about the potential for the state's defence sector.

Earlier this week I joined industry, government and insurance experts to delve into the thorny subject of insurance for Queensland businesses. I learned specialist brokers can be an enormous asset for business. There is an advantage in deeply understanding your individual risks and working closely with an industry-specific broker who understands your vision and operation. Australian Industry Group will develop a raft of recommendations and collaborate to advocate for reforms.
Connect directly with government experts, understand what’s changing in procurement and position yourself for future opportunities at this series of briefings starting next week.
There will be presentations and panel discussions with government experts and the opportunity to gain practical advice for your business.

More roadshows are planned, with additional locations to be announced. Find out more here
A Women in Manufacturing breakfast with my Brisbane team was a special start to IWD celebrations last Friday. Later, I attended a lunch to celebrate women in the resources sector, presented by Queensland Resources Council and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland. It was an uplifting day.
Until next time
