Australian Industry Group today released a landmark report showcasing how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is helping Australian businesses tackle the nation's productivity challenge. "AI isn't a distant concept – it's here, reshaping how businesses operate, innovate, and care for their people," said Innes Willox, Chief Executive of the national employer association. "From streamlining supply chains to boosting workplace safety, AI is unlocking new levels of productivity and resilience. Alongside this, Australian Industry Group strongly supports the Productivity Commission's recent conclusion that regulation should focus on behaviours, not technology. "Regulate the behaviours, not the technology is a welcome conclusion from the Productivity Commission's Five Pillars report," Mr Willox said. "Many of the behaviours cited as risks of AI – misinformation, discrimination, unfair practices – are already regulated under existing laws. Whether you're using a fax machine or AI tools, misrepresenting your products and services is prohibited." |
