The South Australian Government has passed the Labour Hire Licensing (Scope of Act) Amendment Act 2025. The Amendment Act received Royal Assent on 4 December 2025.
The amendments will vary the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017 (SA) to broaden the coverage of the South Australian labour hire licensing scheme to cover all labour hire firms. It also amends the definitions of 'labour hire services', 'labour hire worker' and 'supplier' for the purposes of the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017 (SA) to align the South Australian scheme with the corresponding labour hire licensing schemes in Victoria, Queensland and the ACT.
The legislative changes are not yet operative and commence on proclamation.
