The South Australian Government passed the Labour Hire Licensing (Scope of Act) Amendment Act 2025 and it has received Royal Assent.

The Amendment Act varies the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017 (SA) to broaden the coverage of the South Australian labour hire licensing scheme to cover all labour hire firms. It also amends the definitions of 'labour hire services' and 'labour hire worker' for the stated purposes of aligning the South Australian labour hire licensing scheme with the corresponding schemes in Victoria, Queensland and the ACT.

Members can read more detail regarding the broadened scheme in NAT 038/25.

The Amendment Act commenced by proclamation on 29 January 2026.
