"I’d like to provide an industry perspective on the importance of the transport sector for Australia’s productivity and industrial resilience, and the reform agenda which lies ahead of us.
"We take a very keen interest in transport at Australian Industry Group. We count many transport businesses amongst our membership, support the industry to work through its immediate pressures such as fuel prices alongside its longer-term structural challenges.
But our broader membership – across the manufacturing, construction, utilities, retail and even care sectors – also critically depends on transport. Every good in our economy is either brought in, moved through, or shipped out of the country via transport networks."
