The National Employment Standards (NES) and many modern awards allow an employer to reach agreement with individual employees to substitute a public holiday for another day. This sample letter applies to a situation when an employer and an employee have agreed to substitute a public holiday for another day. This letter is evidence that agreement was reached by both parties and should be kept as a time and wages record.
