During a redundancy process, redeployment and obtaining other acceptable employment are separate but related concepts. Redeployment is significant for the purpose of a “genuine redundancy” and unfair dismissal, whereas whether an employer obtains other acceptable employment for an employee is a factor that may result in a reduction in the employer’s obligation to pay redundancy pay.
