The Honourable Andrew Giles MP was first elected to the Australian Parliament as the member for Scullin in 2013 and currently serves as the Federal Minister for Skills and Training.

A strong and effective skills and training system is vital to drive productivity, deliver on national priorities and support positive outcomes for employers and individuals alike.

The Australian Government implemented significant reforms in the skills and training sector in its first term, including the National Skills Agreement, the introduction of Free TAFE and establishing Jobs and Skills Australia.

Priorities for 2026-27 and beyond have recently been identified through the 2026 Federal Budget.

In this webinar, the Minister will outline the priorities for skills and training in Australia emerging from the Federal Budget and what it means for industry, employers and the education and training sector. The discussion will also explore a range of skills and training issues relevant to the Minister's portfolio, informed by questions submitted by the audience.
