"The regressive initiatives to expand multi-employer bargaining and reintroduce near-compulsory arbitration should be shelved. They are echoes of a centralised approach to wage fixing that has failed before and was rightly abandoned.
"Instead of stifling productivity growth with this bill, the focus should shift to what will make a real difference to productivity and sustainable growth in real wages. There is no shortage of such measures for a serious government."
