Understanding how intrinsically safe (Exi) protection systems prevent ignition is critical for engineers, designers, technicians and mining professionals working in hazardous environments.

About the session

This session examined the engineering controls, protection techniques and industry standards that help keep miners safe and prevent underground explosions.

The objective of the session was to transfer knowledge from standards development committees and strengthen understanding of how technical standards are structured, applied and interpreted in practice.
