Organisations are encouraged to implement a use of mobile telephones and devices policy. Employers are using technology more than ever to support remote workforces, and it is critical that there are appropriate processes in place.

Prior to implementing the policy, it is recommended that there is collaboration between senior leaders, HR and IT to ensure that the policy is reflective of the business needs and identified risks. Once the policy has been finalised, it needs to be communicated to existing employees, future workers and any other authorised user. Technology changes rapidly, and it is recommended that organisations review this policy every 12 months to ensure that it is still reflective. Organisations may wish to review and update a version of this policy in unique scenarios that impact the whole organisation such as what occurred during the COVID-10 pandemic.
