An employer has applied to the Fair Work Commission (Commission) to vary clause 12.9 of the Waste Management Award 2020 (Award). The application seeks to extend the scope of classification level 9 in the Award to include A Double vehicles (in addition to B Double vehicles).

The Commission has listed the matter for a conference before it on 27 August 2026. Members are encouraged to contact Australian Industry Group's Workplace Relations Policy Team as soon as practicable and by 21 August 2026 if they would be affected by the proposed variation to the Award, in order to inform our involvement and position in the matter.
