In 2024, WHS ministers requested Safe Work Australia to undertake a Best Practice Review of the model WHS laws.

The Review examined jurisdictional variations to the model WHS laws and outcomes from relevant government reviews and inquiries, to identify opportunities to improve WHS while strengthening and maintaining harmonisation.

The Review has been completed, and Safe Work Australia has published its final report. setting out various recommendations and actions.
