On 16 April 2026, Australian Industry Group made a submission to provide feedback to the Treasury in relation to its consultation on the draft regulations: Corporations Amendment (Ban on Advertising Superannuation Funds During Onboarding) Regulations 2026 (Draft Regulations), that aim to support the amendments to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) made by the Treasury Laws Amendment (Supporting Choice in Superannuation and Other Measures) Act 2026.

Australian Industry Group supports the policy intention of the amendments to the Corporations Act and proposed draft regulations to the extent the changes enhance employees’ choice and reduces duplicated superannuation accounts. However, it is important that the regulatory framework does not create an excessive compliance burden and any enforcement activities are undertaken on a proportionate basis.
